Started orienteering in 1966 introduced by one of my class mates in 8th grade who was an active orienteer (and up to this day I´ve never beaten him in orienteering!) Became hooked right away and have lived with orienteering ever since. Some years more and some years less active, but always staying in contact with the sport. Now the whole family is active orienteers in Stora Tuna OK: myself in H55, my wife Birgit in D45, Anders in H16 and Maria in D14.
Over the years I´ve been involved in work in just about every aspect of organizing and coaching - on club, district and national level. My own orienteering has been intense at times, but without any major individual results to show. Being a member of big, successful clubs has also made it hard to qualify for even the second team at the big relays like Tiomila or Jukola. Most of my success has been very much due to ‘choosing’ good team-mates in relays including the 1985 North American Champs relay and the 1988 APOC relay + 25manna relay in Sweden with my former club Järfälla OK…
In the mid 70’s I started travelling to try orienteering in other countries and ended up in Canada, doing mapping and all kinds of instruction and clinics for close to ten summers. My visits to US have included the 1982 US Champs in ‘true DVOA country’, French Creek State Park, and the California 5-days in 1984.
When I ’stumbled over’ Attackpoint last January it became a great opportunity to take up some of the old acquaintances again (Hammer, PG, upnorthguy…) and to make some new. Through AP and my contacts with BorisGr I also got ‘reeled in’ as a coach for CSU at last year´s Jukola - now extending my services to DVOA after meeting some of the team members at WOC in Denmark…
My own Jukola experience includes 8 times racing and another 7-8 occasions coaching/supporting, while I haven´t missed a Tiomila since my first in 1967 (racing ‘only’ 12 times, the rest as coach/official/supporter).

Yes, everyone will be able to purchase those limited edition T-shirts. Clem is trying to get prices from AxisGear.
Vadim, the site looks great. Thanks!
Hey — Don’t forget your cameras when you go. We look for some great photos for the club scrapbook. Best of luck to all of you and thanks for representing DVOA.
